Highs in the 100’s, lows – in the 100’s!

Well it was cooler than than that in many ways. Our arrival at the wind swept campground found us ajdusting immediately to the climate. Fortunately, within a small enclave in this inhospitable land man has carverd out a nitch where amenities are available..up to and including the use of a swimming pool at the Furnace Creek Lodge. This welcome reward did not present itself until the day after rolling around bumping elbows against rocks through an inadequately inflated air mattress.

But it can be said that this beautiful and yet hostile region presents landscapes capable of turning the mind.
